Upon arrival I opened the package, unrolled it, and let it inflate for some time. Once inflated I closed the valve, tossed it on my hardwood floor and laid on it. Very surprising amount of comfort for a 1″ pad, I couldn’t even feel the floor beneath it when lying flat. I was also impressed at how well it rolled up. Great product that with proper care I expect to last for years.
Oh and by the way, don’t bother buying the case for these they are a rip off, $15-$20 for a cheap carrying case! I cut a pair of my daughters old tights and stuffed it in (nylons would work well too), BINGO cheap easy alternative that ties at the top and keeps it tight!

I found this to be great for the money I paid. the price was almost 50% less than REI.

I used this mat to sleep on the floor of a plane when I had a 12 hour flight. It fit perfectly on the floor between the seats. My friend slept on the seats and I took the floor and we arrived rested. It might not have been first class; either in comfort or style, but it worked for me.

I was dissapointed in the lack of support and durability of these mats in the chairs.
The older type are made with a tough nylon web material – I have an
old 3/4 mat that I purchased about 14 years ago still working fine.
The price has come down but I would prefer to pay more for the old style product.
