Its not a pocket on the bottom, you will notice that when you pull the mat out you use it….so I would call it a handle

Sounds like a chip bag when you are touching it, i cant imagine sleeping on something that crinkles when I sleep.

Good review. You need to mention, for those who don’t know, that this pad is not self-inflating; the backpacker has to blow it up himself. I always thought the pocket on the end of the ThermaRest stuff sacks was a handhold, but I think you have a great idea of putting the repair kit in it! Thanks for the good video!

The pocket on the end of the stuff sack is to make it easier to pull out the pad. You hold one hand on to the pocket and use the other hand to pull out the pad.
