Well I had the idea of testing my new snugpak sleeping system. The first part is the snugpak softie elite 2 pack.

@Eddy120876 , part two will have the shelter section to cut back the wind. I also bring a ground pad and a wool blanket. You could also used some leaf litter to insulate.

love the video Adam..and hey we have the same headset :D …they feel so good. I did notice you were struggling with the wind going inside the snugpak..is there any other way to solve this issue?. Thanks

When you eliminate the wind you will be even warmer. I have a Snugpak jungelbag and I slept in it for three nights when it was 24 degrees f (with clothes on and a pocho to eliminate the wind to some degree) and it was survivable:o) And it´s rated at extreme 35, so i think you will be quite snug.
    Good stuff as always!

Adam this is too funny, you crashing out in your yard. It’s like survivor man meets homeless man! But with temps in the 30′s it doesn’t matter if you’re in the yard or in the mountains. It’s just as dog gone cold either way. Be safe and God bless brother!

Nice quick review, it’ll be interesting to hear how well the bivy works.

That’s the same bag I have – it’s nice and light, but it’s not warm enough for spring/autumn camping IMO (and definitely not winter). Also remember to hang it when you store it, if you store it in its stuff sack you’ll ruin the loft.

@scargill8 cause of the weather. Its ridiculous to wear shorts and a t-shirt in the cold

Great review Adam. I’ve been really interested in these bags but the cost has been holding me back from purchasing one. Would definitely be a BIG improvement over my current bag which is SOOO big that it takes up the entire main compartment in my medium ALICE pack…..

Well, I was siting here thinking to myself… where is the tarp/ primitive shelter with the flurries going on?? But at least you partially redeemed yourself with the Bivy that will be used during the next phase of testing. Very nice.

I can feel your pain through the video, Adam. I’ve been spending absurd amounts of hours outside in the 40 degree weather to test a jacket for Columbia this winter.

Americans never say the temperature in Celsius…always Fahrenheit.

@braxtonamour this was purchased through Equip2Endure LLC, the bag is rated for 36 to 27 degrees Fahrenheight. The MSRP is $249.00 but you can find them as low as $154.00 with a little looking around.
