I thought this was a very nice ICE FISHING set-up. I’m sure it wouldn’t do too good white water rafting! The pole has great action for smaller fish. Did not come with a spring tip, that is a Frabill tag in the picture that comes off for use. This is not the first pole that I’ve owned secured to the cork with rod tape, nor will it be the last I’m sure. Just as I am also sure Frabill didn’t design this pole for open water fishing.

I bought this because I thought it would be easy to manage while kayaking. I knew it was supposedly made for ice fishing so I kept an open mind when it broke in three pieces after 40 minuites of use. I thought it was my fault for being too rough with the item so I took it back home and glued it with some epoxy. Upon further inspection I learned that the reel was attached to the rod with electrical tape. I’m not making this up. Never in my life have I seen such a blatant ploy for someone’s money.
