    Untie the rope that is holding the tension on the bag to keep it elevated on the branch?

    Dunno best way I can think to explain it.

    The rope is anchored to the ground or a tree branch or something within reach.

    a friend of mine threw a rock with a string tied to the it over a branch to hang his “bear bag”. the rock swing back and hit his sorry ass right in the dome and knocked his ass out.
    anyway, 911 was notified and that was the shortest camping trip i’ve ever participated in.
    a four hours camping trip. >|
